Cougars finish third in Pac-10

Senior Adrian Hankoff contributed 11 kills as the Washington State University Cougars downed Oregon in three games Thursday to reach the 20-win plateau.

The Cougars also swept Oregon State on Friday to pull into a third-place tie with Arizona in the final Pac-10 standings.

Chelsie Schaefer led the Cougars with 13 kills in the 30-27, 30-23 and 30-18 win over the Ducks. She also had a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs in the 30-27, 30-27 and 30-15 sweep of the Beavers.



In addition, Hankoff, a two-time Northern Nevada 4A League Player of the Year, was selected honorable mention All-Pac-10 for the second time, joining three Cougar teammates on the team.

The Cougars (21-7 overall, including 11-7 in the Pac-10) will resume practice on Friday and learn their NCAA tournament destination on Sunday.
