CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Lake Tahoe Community College men’s soccer team took to the field Friday, Sept. 25, but not for a practice or a match. The Coyotes hosted a soccer clinic for the CPAC soccer program at Park Terrace Park, with 20 players partaking an afternoon sharing the game with youth soccer players.

“This has been an incredible day for me and all the boys,” LTCC soccer player Max Kyte said. “It is really important for us to give back to the community and we had a chance to show the kids what college training is like — but more importantly, we had a chance to show them that we cared and wanted to help them reach their dreams.”

The Coyotes’ clinic included 60 players from the CPAC program and their families. For three hours, LTCC players provided instruction, played games and had fun with the kids.

“This has been such a tremendous opportunity for our kids, it has just been awesome,” CPAC coach Rowena Sandoval said. “For these young men to give their time to come to Carson and impact these young people the way they have is truly amazing.”

After the clinic, LTCC’s players were treated to a homemade Mexican dinner as a thank you. The event lasted well into the night.

“I had such a great time, they were so friendly and helpful,” 12-year-old soccer player Isabel Sandoval said. “I know I will be a better soccer player because of what I learned today.”
