Disc-N-Dig festival moves to Santa Cruz

The area’s disc golf courses and beaches are starting to get more populated now that warm weather is settling into the Tahoe Basin. That excitement usually continues to build into June, when the annual Disc-N-Dig festival is held in Zephyr Cove.

But for the first time since 2001, the volleyball and disc golf event won’t be taking place in South Shore. Festival director Michael Plansky said Wednesday that he is moving this year’s event to Santa Cruz.

The fifth annual Disc-N-Dig Festival will take place in September on the beaches of Santa Cruz and at DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course. Plansky said he hopes switching venues will create more buzz for the event before bringing it back to South Shore.
