Emeralds season starts May 22
The Tahoe Emeralds, South Lake Tahoe’s only semi-pro baseball team, begins the summer season next Friday in Reno.
The team, which went undefeated en route to winning the Reno Casey Stengel League last summer, is upgrading the talent this year and will be playing a rigorous, 50-game-plus schedule. Players already committed to playing include former major league pitcher and South Tahoe native Bob Ayrault.
For details on joining the team or supporting the Emeralds, contact coach Gary Shidaker at (530) 542-2525.
