Harrington leads Warriors at Wolf Run

Cody Harrington led the Whittell Warriors for the second straight boys’ golf tournament, shooting an 88 at Wolf Run on Thursday in Reno.
Incline and Hawthorne also participated, but team scores weren’t available.
Whittell senior Jay Tuttle, playing in his first tournament, shot 88 and Tim Lipovsky fired a 93.
At Lakeridge in Reno the previous week, Harrington shot 89 to lead the Warriors to a fifth-place finish out of 12 teams.
Whittell won’t return to action until April 23 at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Carson City.
Tigers sweep Viking nine
Douglas ran its undefeated record to 13-0 by taking a Sierra Division twinbill from South Tahoe on Saturday at Todd Fields.
The Tigers won the first game 15-3; a score wasn’t available for the second contest. Douglas improved to 6-0 and 13-0.
South Tahoe (0-9 in division play and 2-13 overall) plays host North Tahoe in a nonleague game Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

South Tahoe’s junior varsity gave Douglas all it wanted in losing 10-5 and 15-9 in nine innings.
Jake Cain and Ian Rice pitched in the opener and kept the Vikings close.
In game two, Andrew Stuck belted a game-tying three-run homer in the fifth inning. Chris Diana’s squeeze put South Tahoe ahead 8-7. An unearned run put the Vikings up 9-7 going into the seventh, when the Tigers rallied for two runs to force extra innings.
The score remained tied until Douglas erupted for five runs in the ninth.
Ryan Woods and David Schue pitched for the Vikings in game two.
Battle Mountain takes twinbill from Warriors
A doubleheader sweep dropped the Whittell High softball team to fifth place in the Northern 2A Division.
The Warriors lost 9-6 and 11-1 to undefeated division leader Battle Mountain on Saturday in Battle Mountain.
Whittell, 8-6 overall and 2-4 in division, play host to Silver Stage on April 15.
