Hartley Youth Baseball Camp Aug. 18-22

The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department and Mike Hartley, former Major League Baseball pitcher, will host a youth baseball camp Aug. 18-22 at Kahle Community Park.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-12 and will include instruction on the fundamentals of batting, throwing, catching, pitching, baserunning and fielding.

The camp will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Cost is $95 and preregistration is required as space is limited.

Campers need to bring a lunch, water bottle, glove and bat each day. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt. For more information, call Kahle Community Center at (775) 586-7271.

Edgewood Tahoe to host US Open qualifier


STATELINE, Nev. — The United States Golf Association recently announced that Edgewood Tahoe Resort will host one of 109 local qualifying tournaments for the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
