Heavenly skiing to close May 5

Tribune Staff reports

Skiing operations at Heavenly Ski Resort are scheduled to close Sunday, May 5.

While no date has been announced for the close of the sale of Heavenly from American Ski Corp to Vail Associates, May 5 officially marks the last day ASC will be bumping chairs.

What would seem like a landmark day for a corporation that has been a big part of South Lake Tahoe culture for the past five years is just another day.

No special plans or celebrations have been planned for May 5, said Molly Cuffe, Heavenly’s communications manager.

Sight-seeing and tubing operations will continue until May 12.
