Hooligans rally in tournament opener

The South Tahoe Little League Hooligans put on a offensive and defensive show Thursday night as they came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat Carson National at Reno American Baseball field in Reno.

The Hoooligans were down 4-1 in the fourth inning when they began to mount the comeback. In the inning, three runs crossed the plate to tie the game before Tahoe broke the game open in the fifth.

With the bases loaded, Ivan Trebotich smacked a bases-clearing double over the head of the center fielder. On the day, Trebotich went 2 for 2 with three runs batted in, while teammate Ryan Lucia was 4 for 4 with six RBIs.

The Hooligans got superb relief pitching from Patrick Lahlum, who threw four innings of two-hit ball.

The Hooligans take on Washoe Valley 6 p.m. Friday in Reno.
