Johnson, Bauss win 42nd annual city bowling tournament

When the thunder stopped and the pins were silent, the 42nd annual City Tournament came to an end. Emerging victorious in the men’s division was Larry Johnson and Cristina Bauss took it all in the women’s division.

Johnson posted a final score of 2,149 in all events to become the men’s City Tournament champion. Johnson placed fourth in singles, sixth in doubles, and led his Top Shelf team with fellow teammates Mario Lomibao, Jeremy Agnew and Leonard Lopez to the title. The best men’s team in Lake Tahoe, accumulated a score of 2,693. His efforts earned him Shott’s men’s bowler of the tournament. Congratulations, Larry!



Capturing first place in the singles division were Adolph Zertuche and David Dickinson with a final score of 734.

Capturing first place in the doubles division were John Filas and Wayne Koch with a total pinfall of 1,450.

Cristina Bauss recorded a score of 2,020 in all events to become the women’s all-events champion. Bauss placed second in the singles, captured first place in the doubles division with teammate KC Bodnar with a score of 1,266 and led her team (with teammates Angie Koch, Kimberely Preiss and KC Bodnar) to the title. The best women’s team in Lake Tahoe racked up a score of 2,657. Her efforts earned her Shott’s women’s bowler of the tournament. Congratulations, Cristina!

Capturing first place in the singles division was Doris Aeberli with a total pinfall of 691.

STATELINE, Nev. — The United States Golf Association recently announced that Edgewood Tahoe Resort will host one of 109 local qualifying tournaments for the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
