Keys Cafe hosting DAFFY Rail Jam Saturday in South Lake Tahoe

Staff report

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — DAFFY Board Company is partnering with South Lake Tahoe’s Keys Cafe to host its first-ever rail jam this weekend. The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, and supports the company’s summer skate days for kids around the Lake Tahoe Basin.

The rail jam will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Keys Cafe, located at 2279 Lake Tahoe Blvd. DAFFY’s products are on sale at Keys Cafe — the local company describes itself as the “giving skate company” and it bases its mission on giving back to local youth.

“We offer a program with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and SOS Outreach where we match the number of boards they buy one for one,” DAFFY co-owner Tyler Brown said. “Then we take kids out and teach them how to skate. It is an amazing experience for all involved.”

Sponsors for the event include The Spot, Mountain Menace, Tahoe Production House, The Buttermuffin, Tahoe Rock ‘n’ Minerals, Skatehouse, Shoreline, RISE Designs, BeastUp energy drink, Onus Art Projects and Never Summer. DAFFY is on Facebook (DAFFY Skateboard Company).
