Allison King scored twice to lead South Tahoe to a 7-0 league win over Fernley on Saturday in Fernley.

“We started very slowly but started to pick it up by the middle of the first half,” said South Tahoe coach Jeremy Evans. “This team still has an issue with having that killer instinct in front of the net. It’s developing and we’re good in spots, but collectively as a team we’re not as aggressive as we should be going to goal.”

Kendall Eagan had a goal and two assists, while Valeria Garcia and Zoe D’Angelo both scored their first varsity goals of the year.

Jenny Burks scored her first goal since returning from an ankle injury three weeks ago.

Senior Brittany Hubberts added her ninth goal of the season and is second on the team with nine goals.

Senior Cassidy Jackson assisted on two goals and leads the team with seven assists.

“We scored in bursts in this game, three goals in a five-minute span in the first half and then the final four goals in a 16-minute span in the second half, but there was a 40-minute stretch where we didn’t score any goals,” Evans said. “We need to become more efficient and lethal in front of the net as we head into the critical part of our season.”
