Lady Vikings soccer crushing league opponents

South Tahoe played three soccer games in five days this past week and won them all.

The Lady Vikings smashed Spring Creek and Elko, 5-0 and 7-0, respectively, on Friday and Saturday at home. They went on the road Tuesday and defeated 3A newcomer North Valleys, 4-1.

The Vikings scored two goals in each half against North Valleys, which dropped down this year from 4A.



Lillie McGuire, Marley Befu, Angelina Maltase and Kelsey Hogan scored goals and Giovana De Loia had two assists and Maltase and Hannia Medina Acosta each had one assist.

The Vikings (9-1, 6-0 3A Northern League) gave up their first goal in five games and have surrendered just six goals on the season. The Vikings have won seven straight overall.



Branda Warden scored a pair of goals to lead the South Tahoe offense against Spring Creek while Hogan, De Loia and Quinn Simpson each added single goals. Hogan, De Loia, McGuire and Maltase assisted on goals.

Hogan recorded a hat trick against Elko to lead the offensive barrage.

De Loia added a goal and two assists, Simpson, Maltase and Warden each scored goals and Morrison Salmon had an assist.

Vikings keeper Phoebe Barkann had two saves in each game.

The Vikings will host Lowry at noon on Saturday before their rival and first place showdown Tuesday at Truckee (6-0 Northern).
