QUINCY, Calif. — The Lake Tahoe community college women’s soccer team played league-leading Feather River College evenly on Friday for the second time in a one-week span. The Coyotes rallied for a 2-2 draw with Feather River on the road to remain two points shy of the Golden Eagles in the league standings.

Lake Tahoe (7-4-5, 3-1-3 Golden Valley) trailed 2-1 at halftime after giving up a goal in the 35th minute. Both teams traded goals early on — Feather River (10-3-3, 4-0-2) opened the scoring in the third minute and LTCC forward Tori Smith answered four minutes later to tie the match.

Seven minutes into the second half, Lake Tahoe tied the game when forward Tianna Carrington scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season off an assist from midfielder Marisol Lizaola. Coyotes goalkeeper Alejandra Orozco made six saves in the tie.

Through last weekend’s matches, Lake Tahoe was ranked 13th in Northern California. The Coyotes returned to action Tuesday against College of the Redwoods (Eureka, Calif.) at Redding Soccer Park.
