Lake Tahoe Epic Curling starts winter league Jan. 25

After hosting a number of learn-to-curl sessions over the holidays, Lake Tahoe Epic Curling (LTEC) is ready to start its winter curling league. The league hits the ice Sunday night.

“With all of the new curlers coming in these last few weeks, we should have a good turnout for the new league,” LTEC president Larry Sidney said. “Teams will be competing to replace defending league champions, The Blind Squirrelers.”

LTEC’s winter league will take place at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena on Sunday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. Anyone who has participated in a learn-to-curl session is eligible to participate, and people who don’t have a full team will be put on a team with a more experienced curler.

“We still have room for at least one more team, as well as a few individual curlers,” league drawmaster Mike Lynn said.

To sign up, email Lynn at League dates are Jan. 25, Feb. 8, and 22, and March 1, 8, and 15 — more information can be found at
