Little Warriors free hoops camps begin Sunday

Whittell head coach and athletic director Phil Bryant will direct free youth basketball camps starting this weekend in Zephyr Cove.

The first session of the Little Warriors camp, for boys and girls ages 5 to 13, begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, in the George Whittell High School gymnasium.

Players will be grouped by age — 5 to 8-year-olds will hit the court from 4-4:55 p.m. and kids ages 9-13 will be on the hardwood from 5-6 p.m.

Kids will learn the fundamental skills from Bryant and players from his team including dribbling, pivoting, passing, jumping, shooting and conditioning.

There will be 3-on-3 games for advanced 9-13 year-olds.

The camps are open to all kids from all schools.

For more information, contact Bryant at pbryant@dcsd.k12.nv.us or call 530-518-8588.
