Summer is time for youth basketball clinics.

Matt Tillson and other South Tahoe High alumni will host two six-week camps for both boys and girls beginning in June.

Students in grades two, three and four will camp on Wednesdays, June 3 to July 15, 4 to 5:30 p.m., at South Tahoe High. The cost is $15.

Students in grades five, six and seven will meet twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 2 to July 16, 4 to 5:30, at the high school. Their cost is $20. Times will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. when school ends for the year.

Campers will receive a clinic T-shirt and participate in games and drills geared toward fun and improvement. No hoops experience is required and players can register at the door.

For details, call 541-4111.

The South Tahoe High boys basketball club’s annual giant garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Tahoe Middle School.

The club will provide free pickup of any items you wish to donate, except for mattresses and refrigerators.

In addition, there will be a pancake breakfast, bake sale and barbecue. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the community’s youth programs.

For pickup information, call Ed Doughty at 577-7635. For general info, call Mary Pakes at 541-3969.
