Local bike race in June

The Alta Alpina Challenge is coming to Alpine County on June 28.

The challenge is Alta Alpina Cycling Club’s annual ride.

There are different route options to choose from including relatively flat foothills to one or more mountain passes. Coursed races vary from 64 miles up to 198 miles and riders can also build a personalized ride. Each course is lined with rest stops.

The ride is equipped with sag support and volunteers at the rest stops.

Registration is open with an early registration discount until May 1.

More information can be found on the website, http://www.altaalpina.org/challenge, or by contacting Alpina Cycling Club president Chris Rhiner at president@altaalpina.org.
