Conard no-hits Dayton, South Tahoe softball downs Dust Devils 15-0

DAYTON, Nev. — For the third time in her career, South Tahoe’s Kendra Conard has held an opponent hitless. The junior threw a six-inning no-hitter at Dayton on Tuesday, April 5, as the Vikings rolled to a 15-0 win.

Conard struck out 15 batters and issued three walks for her third-career no-hitter. As a sophomore, she achieved the feat against Dayton and Whittell.

South Tahoe (5-5 I-A Northern) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, and broke free from a defensive struggle with seven runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth. Conard also produced at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with five RBIs and four runs.

Senior Bailey Barcellos (3-for-5, three RBIs), senior Nora Anderson (2-for-3, five RBIs, four runs), junior Teeva Chambers (2-for-3, RBI, two runs) and freshman Teagan Williamson (2-for-2, RBI, run) also collected multiple hits in Tuesday’s win. Dayton (0-13-1, 0-10) is winless in 14 games this season.

The Vikings play a three-game series at Truckee starting Friday, April 8. First pitch in Friday’s series opener is scheduled for 3 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m.
