South Tahoe alum Sharp named CalPac Player of the Week for University of Antelope Valley

LANCASTER, Calif. — Former South Tahoe baseball standout Tyler Sharp is already making his presence felt in his first season at University of Antelope Valley. The junior was named California Pacific Conference Player of the Week for March 14-20, the first such award handed out by the conference.

Sharp delivered a strong outing in a 9-0 win over Dickinson State on March 18 in the Tucson Invitational Tournament, improving to 7-0 on the season with a complete game victory. The former Viking allowed two hits while striking out five.

In 58.0 innings this season, Sharp has a 3.10 ERA and 24 strikeouts. In 10 starts the junior has eight victories, currently tied for second in the NAIA.



After graduating from South Tahoe in 2013, Sharp spent two years at Yuba College in Marysville, California. Antelope Valley is currently 30-10 on the season and atop the CalPac standings.
