SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The South Tahoe boys soccer team opened its 3A Northern League slate on a positive note Wednesday, Sept. 7. The Vikings beat Lowry 1-0 at Viking Stadium to notch their first win of the season.

South Tahoe (1-2, 1-0 3A Northern) prevailed courtesy of a 25-yard goal from senior Lex Merrifield in the second half. The strike was enough to lift the Vikings to victory over Lowry (0-3, 0-1) to start league play.

The Vikings return to action Friday, Sept. 9, at Sparks. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
