South Tahoe freshman beat Fernley

South Tahoe’s freshmen boys’ basketball team cruised past Fernley with a 66-23 league win Saturday.

With the win, South Tahoe improves to 10-2 overall, 4-2 IA Northern.

“The kids were pretty excited about their 10th win,” South Tahoe coach Rick Chandler said. “But more importantly, we played again as a team. This group is as unselfish as it gets.”



Five players scored in the double digits.

Ridge Merkley led all scorers with 16 points and eight rebounds. Noah Jackson had 12 points and five assists.



Garret Harley scored 11 points and Tommy Cefalu and Dylan Gooding each scored 10. Zen Contestable had seven rebounds.
