South Tahoe’s Barcellos, Whittell’s Kjer represent South Shore at Local Sports Program Senior All-Star girls b-ball game

RENO, Nev. — South Tahoe’s Bailey Barcellos and Whittell’s Kelsey Kjer represented the South Shore at the Local Sports Program Senior All-Star girls basketball game last Thursday, May 26. The White team took an early lead and never looked back on the way to a 64-42 win over the Blue team at Wooster High in a showcase of players from throughout Northern Nevada.

The White team won all four quarters en route to a 22-point victory Thursday, led by Morgan Waller from Damonte Ranch (Reno). The 5-foot-10-inch Waller, a three-sport athlete headed to Florida Gulf Coast on a volleyball scholarship next year, scored a game-high 21 points for the White team.

Megan McCormick from Fallon scored 12 for the White team while Passion Burrell from North Valleys (Reno) added 11. On the Blue side, Truckee’s Sydney Mock scored a team-high 12 points — Barcellos finished with seven, including six in the second half.
