The South Tahoe Middle School seventh-grade boys basketball team outscored Alder Creek last week 39-33 in Truckee to bring its season record to 5-0.
Highlights of previous games include Kevin Lehmann and Alex Kasper as top scorers against Carson Middle School with 13 and 6 points respectively. Earlier in the season STMS defeated Pa Wa Lu 49-30 on the road with Henry Vacakis scoring 21 and Daniel Hibler 7, and overcame Carson Valley at home 35-31 with Vacakis scoring 15 and Norbin Flores 9.
“Talented post players John Darlucia and Spencer Vince complement strong guard play by Connor Long, Cameron Johnson, Kody Griffis, Christian Jaczuk and JP Santiago, who force numerous turnovers during their relentless full court pressure defense,” STMS Athletic Director Kathleen Whatford stated in an email.
This week STMS will play Carson Middle School at home on Thursday at 3 p.m.
