Tahoe Training Camps hosting San Jose Earthquakes Academy teams, sessions open to public

Two teams from the San Jose Earthquakes Academy are coming to the South Shore to train with Tahoe Training Camps, and will hold open sessions this week. The Earthquakes Academy U-14 and U-13 boys soccer teams opened the six-day camp Sunday, Aug. 7, at Al Tahoe Field.

During the last three days of camp, the MLS club’s academy teams will hold open sessions. They will train from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10, hold a scrimmage from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, and have team training from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12 — all sessions are free and the community is invited to attend.

“These are some of the highest-level players in the country — it’s a step below the National Team,” Tahoe Training Camps founder Leon Abravanel said last month about the Earthquakes youth program. “We’re excited about [this] one.”

Al Tahoe Field is located on Rufus Allen Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe. For more information, email leon@tahoetrainingcamps.com.
