ZEPHYR COVE — For those that can’t make it to Wimbledon this year, Zephyr Cove Tennis Club is the place to be on this side of the pond. The club’s annual Breakfast at Wimbledon doubles event returns Saturday, July 9.
Instead of green lawns to play on, the Tahoe facility has freshly resurfaced courts — which are now all-green. Adults will be paired with a partner, and the top four teams will win a prize.
Breakfast will be served starting at 9 a.m., with play beginning at 10 a.m. Those playing are asked to wear white, just like the pros are required to at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
The deadline to sign up for Breakfast at Wimbledon is noon on Wednesday, July 6, and it can be done at pro shop located near the courts. The first 32 paid entrants are guaranteed a spot.
Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non-members, and $5 for spectators who want to eat. While breakfast is included in the price, participants are asked to bring a dish to share and personal beverages.
