LTCC drops two matches

The Lake Tahoe Community College volleyball team lost a pair of matches last weekend in South Lake Tahoe, dropping their season mark to 0-7.

On Friday, the Kokanee lost to Lassen, 8-15, 3-15, 9-15. It was a poorly played contest, according to coach Cheryl Vanos-Embry.

I was disappointed. We had nothing and Lassen came to win,” she said.

On Saturday, LTCC lost to Butte, 12-15, 6-15, 7-15. Vanos-Embry said, despite the loss, it was a better outing for the women.

Jen Plummer and Darcie Williams worked well as leaders.

The Kokanee close out their home schedule this coming weekend with Shasta on Friday and Siskiyous on Saturday. Game times are 7:30 p.m. and noon, respectively.

“We need teamwork and desire to get that want to win. We don’t have the guts instinct yet. We’ve got to get past the basics now,” Vanos-Embry said.
