The Tahoe Swim Club hosted an invitational swim meet last month at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex. The event, sanctioned by USA/Pacific Swimming, attracted nearly 400 swimmers from 14 different California and Nevada swim clubs.
Tahoe swimmer Francisco Marin captured High Points in the boys 9-10 year age group, winning seven of his 10 events. Zack Powers took first place in the 25, 50 and 100 freestyles and 100 breaststroke to claim high points in the boys 17-18 age group, while Melissa Anstett won high points in the girls 17-18 age group with first places in the 200 freestyle, 100 and 200 breastrokes and 200 individual medley.
Natalie Turner, 15, took first place in the 25 backstroke and second place in four other events. Cassandra Marin, Brooke King, and Sierra Forvilly consistently finished in the top 10 for events in the girls 7-8 year age group, as did Luca Genasci and Albert Reed in the boys 11-12, and Hannah Kropf in the girls 13-14 age group.
