Miners rough up the Viking nine

South Tahoe High’s tough preseason baseball schedule reached a crescendo on Tuesday against Bishop Manogue.

The Miners routed the Vikings 24-1 on the second day of the Manogue tournament in Reno.

The Vikings started the season 3-0 but have lost three straight. In addition to Manogue, they have played Galena, last year’s state runner-up; Spanish Springs; and Fallon.

Sophomore Max DeLallo doubled, and Notanee Vasquez and Kevin Yelles each hit singles against the Miners.

STHS plays Reed today at Damonte Ranch High in Reno. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
