STATELINE — For the second straight year, Mark Mulder won the American Century Championship celebrity golf crown. And for the second year in a row, the tournament set a new attendance record.
Mulder shot a tournament-best 29 in the final round Sunday, July 24, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course to finish with 74 points. The former Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher beat ex-tennis pro Mardy Fish by five, after Fish missed a potential tying putt for eagle on 18.
The 27th American Century Championship had a total attendance of 47,109, eclipsing the previous record set in 2015. The mark of 18,172 for Saturday’s second round was also a single-day tournament high.
