Parents key to WHS football fate

Tahoe Daily Tribune Staff Reports

Tribune staff reports

The fate of the Whittell High football hinges on attendance at tonight’s meeting at the school.

Whittell High football coach Dennis Young said he needs 17 to 20 parents at the meeting to continue planning for the fall season.

“The teams are starting to call and I don’t know any other way to do it,” said Young of the ultimatium meeting. “We’ll probably need 30 to 45 minutes to try and get a commitment out of these guys and their parents.

Whittell canceled its football season last fall because of a lack of numbers.
