Pop Warner to gear up today at 5 p.m., 6 p.m.

South Lake Tahoe Pop Warner football players can pick up their helmets today at the South Tahoe Middle School equipment shack.

Players on the tiny mites and mighty mites can get their helmets starting at 5 p.m., while junior peewees, peewees and junior midgets can get their headgear beginning at 6 p.m.

Parents can still register their children for the league. Sign-ups will be taken on Thursday night at the equipment shed at the rear of STMS. The cost is $175 per player, and parents need to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and their latest report card to register.

All teams begin practice at 5:30 p.m. Monday at STHS.

Local president Pam Curtzwiler needs volunteers and a few more coaches to make the league run smoother. Donations are also welcomed.

For more information, phone Curtzwiler at (530) 577-1139.
