Potnick’s power surge lifts Sox past A’s

Alex Potnick went a perfect 4 for 4 with a double and three runs scored for the AMWEST Red Sox, who battled back from a 3-0 deficit in the first inning to edge the South Tahoe Refuse A’s 11-9 in recent Babe Ruth Action at Todd Fields.

Kory DiGrande went 2 for 3 with a double and three runs scored, while Jordan Zager added two doubles and two runs for the Red Sox, who scored five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good. Chris Whatford and Jamie Yelles both scored three runs apiece for the A’s.

Padres 15, Dodgers 3

Rylan Tepper went 2 for 2 with a triple and three runs scored, while Brian Henderson went 4 for 4 with two runs scored as the AAA Roofing Padres drilled the Laub & Laub Dodgers 15-3. Dillon McKeen added two singles and two runs for the Padres, who scored 13 runs in the first three innings to win in five innings. For the Dodgers, Tyler Sharp went 3 for 3, and Christian Winslow had two singles and two runs.

Giants 11, Mariners 3

Chris Yarrow and Tyler Slater each had a hit and scored three runs as the Lira’s Supermarket Giants scored five runs in the first two innings in their victory over the Accurate TV Mariners. Leadoff hitter Jason Reum scored twice and had two singles for the Mariners.

Angels 9, Mariners 8

Leadoff hitter Milt Vasquez went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Alex Vogt went 3 for 3 with a double for the Lake Tahoe Coin and Jewelry & Loan Angels, who lead 6-3 in the second inning and never looked back. Ricky Braun also added two hits. Jason Reum scored in all three of his plate apperances, while Nick Twyman and Dylan Kane each had two hits for the Mariners.

Giants 7, A’s 4

Tyler Slater went a perfect 4 for 4 with two runs scored, while Julian Washalefsky was 2 for 3 and Dylan Simonian 2 for 3 with a double and triple for the Lira’s Supermarket Giants. The Giants scored two runs in the seventh to extend their lead to 7-2 over the South Tahoe Refuse A’s.

The A’s were led by Jamie Yelles, who went 3 for 4 with a double; Chris Whatford, who went 3 for 4 with a triple and two runs; and James Coolbaugh, who went 3 for 4.

Red Sox 9, Padres 7

Jordan Zager, Nick Warner and Alex Potnick each scored two runs for the AMWEST Red Sox, who led 8-1 after three innings against the AAA Roofing Padres. The Padres were led by Dillon McKeen, who went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, and Austin Buyak, who had two singles.

Dodgers 17, Angels 4

Matt Schorr went 2 for 3 with a triple and a double to lead 14 players with hits in the Laub & Laub Dodgers’ blowout win over the Lake Tahoe Coin Jewelry & Loan Angels.

Jess Latta and Chris Holland both went 3 for 3 for the Dodgers, who scored seven runs in the second inning to gain control. Justin Barnard (triple), Greg Stewart, Christian Winslow, Tanner McAvoy and Andrew Contaxis each collected two hits.

Alex Vogt went 2 for 2 with a double, while Milt Vasquez also hit a double for the Angels.

A’s 7, Mariners 2

Leo Trebotich had a single and scored the go-ahead run in the fourth inning to lead the South Tahoe Refuse A’s past the Accurate TV Mariners. Chris Whatford scored twice and singled in the win. Jason Reum went 2 for 4 with a run, while Dylan Kane scored and singled.
