Rabbetts wins two races at league championships

Evan Rabbetts won two races (100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke), while Joe Stanton won the 50 freestyle for the South Tahoe boys’ swim team at the Zephyr League championships on Friday at Northwest Pool in Reno. Stanton also placed fourth in the 100 butterfly, one of several top-five finishes for the Vikings.

David Wise was second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle. Nathan Hansen was second in the 100 backstroke and Kyle Garon second in the 200 freestyle, while Brandon Reinhard was fifth in the 100 breaststroke. The Vikings finished the regular season atop the league team standings at 6-1.

In the girls’ competition, STHS freshman Hanna Bratton placed second in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Casey Delacruz was fourth in the 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle. South Tahoe finished the regular season 2-4 in the team standings.

The Northern 4A regional trials are on Friday at the Carson Aquatic Facility in Carson City.
