Ramos finishes seventh in World Cup

Travis Ramos posted his best ever World Cup performance, finishing seventh on Saturday in the freestyle competition at Breckenridge, Colo.

Ramos, 18, of South Lake Tahoe, was one of four American men in the top seven. Squaw Valley’s Jonny Moseley won the event with a score of 27.74. Even Dybvig was second with 27.37 points, while Garth Hager was fifth with 25.65.

Ramos scored 24.88 points. South Lake Tahoe’s Chris Hernandez, 19, was 26th. Ramos is currently ranked 39th in World Cup standings.



On the women’s side, South Lake Tahoe’s Brooke Ballachey, 18, finished seventh with 21.81 points – the second-best American performance behind Donna Weinbrect, who was fourth with 23.45 points. Ballachey is currently 27th in World Cup standings with 108 points.
