Sick and Twisted calls in sick

Snowbomb’s Sick and Twisted Big Air & Slopestyle Festival at Kirkwood Mountain Resort received some sick and twisted wind Saturday, forcing event organizers to reschedule the competition for next weekend, said Mike Delaete, Kirkwood’s events and promotions manager.

More than 70 competitors were scheduled to compete in the event Saturday, Feb. 23, including snowboarders Vic Lawrance and Mike Orlick and skier Mike Laroche.

The event will be reschedule for Saturday, March 2.



Registration will take place from 8-10 a.m. on the day of the event in Zak’s Bar in the Red Cliffs Day Lodge.

Amateur’s can register for free. The open class is $25. First place prize is $500. The total purse is worth $2,000.
