South, Kozak win TRT endurance runs

Paul South of Louisville, Colo., won the 50K race in a time of 4 hours, 37.25 seconds and Jeff Kozak of Bishop, Calif., won the 50-mile race in 8:35.43 on Saturday at the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs.

South was followed in the 50K results by Reno’s Dan Stoll-Hadayia (4:39.59) and Bryan Hacker of Cool, Calif., (5:20.02). Kozak was trailed in the 50-mile race by Michael Uhler of San Leandro, Calif., (8:44.11) and Phoenix’s Chris Latvaaho (8:57.31).

The top local finisher in the 50K race was South Lake Tahoe’s Chris Twomey finished 11th (6:02.13). The event, which is sponsored by the South Shore-based Tahoe Mountain Milers and Carson City’s Sagebrush Stompers, attracted almost 300 competitors on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe.
