South Tahoe Avalanche boys soccer team finishes with league record

The South Tahoe Avalanche boys soccer team, coached by Ed McClain and comprised of 13 12- and 13-year-old boys, finished its first season as a club team with a league record of 7-0-2.

The team traveled from El Dorado Hills to Vacaville for the past five months, playing monthly tournaments and regular league games. After placing first in four tournaments, the Avalanche advanced to the grand finale for the Division VI playoffs, which took place in Sacramento recently.

The Avalanche won their flight over the weekend and to qualify for the District 6 U-12 Boys Championship at Cherry Island, off of Watt Avenue in Sacramento on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The Avalanche went 4-0, defeating two teams from River City Club, one from the Eureka Club and one team from the Woodland Hills Club.
