The South Tahoe boys soccer team ended the regular season with road victories at Spring Creek and Elko last weekend to finish third in the Div. I-A Northern League standings. The Vikings won seven of their last nine matches and ended up 10-4-2 in league play.

On Friday, South Tahoe came from behind twice in a 3-2 victory at Spring Creek — the Vikings finished the win with 10 players. The following day, the Vikings beat Elko 2-0 in their regular season finale to lock up the third spot.

South Tahoe (10-5-2) advances to the Div. I-A Northern Region playoffs, where it will meet second-seeded Sparks (20-2-2) Friday at 1 p.m. at Riverview Sports Park in Truckee. The Vikings and Railroaders tied in each of their meetings this season — the winner qualifies for the state tournament.
