The South Tahoe Lady Vikings crushed Dayton Friday for their second straight Northern League win but came home Tuesday and were beaten by two-time defending state champ Churchill County.

Kaitlyn Janese scored 14 points, hauled in 13 rebounds and made eight steals in leading the Vikings past Dayton 52-21.

Teagan Williamson added 11 points, Hailey Naccarato scored eight points, including a pair of 3s, grabbed seven rebounds and made three steals, Layne Hembree scored six points, Malorie Neiger scored four points and dished four assists and Eva Perry grabbed six rebounds and made five steals for the Vikings.

The defending state champs, who also have not lost a league game in two seasons, pressured the Lady Vikings early and built a big first period lead on its way to a 57-23 victory.

South Tahoe (2-4, 2-2 Northern) will compete in the Varsity Elite Tournament just after Christmas, Dec. 27-29, and have four games scheduled in three days.

The Vikings return to league play Jan. 4 at Lowry.
