The South Tahoe girls soccer team returned from its longest road trip of the regular season with a pair of victories. The Vikings beat Elko and Spring Creek last weekend, Oct. 21-22, securing second place in 3A Northern League in the process.

On Friday, the Vikings delivered a 3-2 victory at Elko. Senior Ana Garcia scored twice, junior Bailey Segers found the back of the net once, and the Vikings held off the Indians after jumping in front 2-0.

The following afternoon, South Tahoe beat Spring Creek 5-0 led by a four-goal performance from Segers. Garcia also scored for the Vikings, who had five assists on their five goals against the Spartans — helpers from seniors Emma Dayberry and Claudia Janese along with juniors Jocelyn Barajas, Annie Brejc and Lulu Gutierrez.

South Tahoe (12-5, 10-3 3A Northern) returned to action at home Tuesday, Oct. 25, against Fallon. The Vikings conclude the regular season Saturday, Oct. 29, at North Tahoe.
