South Tahoe girls’ soccer team shuts down Colts

Wooster was the latest victim of a serious run at the regional championship by the South Tahoe girls’ soccer team.

The Vikings completely shut down the Colts 12-0 in Northern Nevada 4A League play Saturday morning in Reno.

South Tahoe’s offensive duo Kelly Meyer and Cybil Robinson each had a “hat trick” of three goals, while Megan Comlessy and goalkeeper Nicole Vidro scored two goals apiece.

The Vikings also got goals from Kristen Tener, Jen Napier and Megan Hoppe.

“Even though the score didn’t show it, the Wooster team has gotten stronger,” said Vikings coach Julia Russell, adding that South Tahoe was surprised to find no junior varsity team to play at the Saturday road match.
