SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The South Tahoe Pop Warner Jr. Pee Wees rolled to a victory on their home field Saturday, Sept. 26. The Vikings beat Hawthorne 27-0 at Viking Stadium for a second straight win.

South Tahoe (2-1) took control from the outset of Saturday’s win, scoring all four of its touchdowns in the first half. The Vikings finished the game with 363 yards of offense, including 287 on the ground.

Joel Gomez led the Vikings’ offense with 125 rushing yards, 38 receiving yards and a 47-yard touchdown run. Trenton Schouten added 50 yards on the ground to go along with a 38-yard touchdown catch.

Andrew Lehmann and Koa Hadaway each ran for more than 20 yards and a score against Hawthorne (1-1). Quarterback Jace Kezer rounded out a solid offensive performance, with 65 total yards and a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Defensively, the Vikings held Hawthorne to 38 yards — Lehmann delivered a key interception late in the second quarter. South Tahoe’s defense remained strong for all four quarters, and every player finished with at least one tackle.
