South Tahoe tied Carson 11, six innings

by staff

A 6-0 deficit was just the ticket to fire up the South Tahoe High junior baseball team Thursday in Carson City.

Jake Bobman bashed a grand slam and Royce Reardon belted a two-run homer to dead center as the Vikings rallied for an 11-11 tie.

Officials called the game after six innings for darkness.

“We were at that point of the game when we could have been just blown out, and then they brought it together,” said STHS manager Matt Tillson.

South Tahoe (1-3-1) was led by Reardon’s three hits, which included a homer and double; Bobman’s slam and double; and Justin Osborne’s double and single. Reardon finished with four RBIs.

Vikings junior pitcher Tommy Araujo left in the fifth inning with STHS leading, but Carson scored four runs in the sixth to force the tie.

South Tahoe travels to Reno High on Saturday for a 10 a.m. doubleheader.
