Skate with the champions at South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena on Friday

The Tahoe Grizzlies Pee Wee hockey team made history on the ice by winning the Pee Wee B championship at the International Silver Stick regional tournament. With the title, Tahoe advances to the finals held Jan. 7-10 on Canadian soil in Pelham, Ontario.

The team is currently raising funds for registration and travel expenses for the Canada trip. Skaters and non-skaters alike can join the fun at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena this Friday, Dec. 18, from 7-9 p.m. A $10 ticket will get a skate rental, pizza and soda.

Purchase tickets from any pee wee player, or at the door at 1176 Rufus Allen Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe. Compete in “huck-a-puck” to win cash, participate in the 50-50 raffle and witness the banner-raising ceremony for the Silver Stick championship. There will also be a bake sale and s’mores available for purchase to roast over the fire pits. For more information, call SLT Ice Arena at 530-544-7465.
