LAKE TAHOE CC MEN’S SOCCER FALLS IN FIRST ROUND OF REGIONAL PLAYOFFS

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Lake Tahoe Community College men’s soccer team saw its season come to an untimely end in its postseason opener Saturday, Nov. 19. The ninth-seeded Coyotes fell at eighth-seeded Evergreen Valley College (San Jose, Calif.) 1-0 in the first round of the CCCAA Northern California Regional playoffs.

Lake Tahoe (12-5-6) fell behind four minutes into Saturday’s match, when Hawks sophomorae James Dawes found the back of the net. Neither team scored for the remainder of the contest, allowing Evergreen Valley (13-4-4) to prevail in a matchup between Final Four teams from last season.

The Hawks advanced to the second round to play top-seeded Fresno City College (Fresno, Calif.). Lake Tahoe’s first-round loss was a first in the program’s three seasons — the Coyotes had advanced in the postseason each of the last two years.
