Nearly 170 soccer teams descended on the South Shore last weekend for the annual Come Up For Air tournament — and three local clubs captured crowns on their home turf. South Tahoe Futbol Club’s U-18 Alliance, U-14 Outlaws and U-11 Yetis each walked away with trophies after the two-day tournament held last Saturday and Sunday.

STFC Alliance took the U-18 girls crown with a 2-0 win over EC Real Salinas Thundergirls at Lake Tahoe Community College on Sunday. The Alliance took second in pool play with 13 points, and beat San Bruno Lowen 83 Dynamite 1-0 in the semifinals.

STFC Outlaws won the U-14 Tallac girls title by beating Barcelona Norcal 01’ 4-1 on Sunday at Whittell High. The Outlaws topped their group with three wins and 27 points to advance to the championship game.

On the boys side, STFC Yetis captured the U-11 Emerald championship with a 3-1 victory over Roseville YSC Gunners on Sunday at Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School. The Yetis topped their group with two wins and 18 points, and beat Ethos FC Saints 5-3 in the semifinals.

Three STFC girls teams finished in second place in their division. STFC Hawks were U-16 runners-up, STFC Avalanche finished second in the U-15 Division and STFC Storm took second in the U-12 Emerald division.
