South Tahoe High’s boys golf team finished second behind Galena and ahead of Hug on a warm Tuesday at Sierra Sage in Reno.

The Grizzlies posted a nine-hole team total of 217, easily besting the Vikings 247 and Hawks 265.

Mitch Underhill led Tahoe with a 47, with Kip Gstetenbauer 48, Michael Lentz 49, Adolph Zertuche 52 and Jory Mendes 53.

“The wind blew but it was nothing we weren’t used to. We just didn’t bring our best game,” said coach Mike Patterson, whose squad topped Golden Sierra in a scrimmage on Monday. “We may have had a let done after (Monday). We didn’t stay focused.”

The Vikings compete against Douglas, Reed and Reno today at the Golf Club at Genoa Lakes. Tee time is 3 p.m.
