Tahoe Grizzlies squirt hockey team drops puck at Lake Tahoe Invitational, falls in tournament opener

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The Tahoe Grizzlies squirt hockey team opened play at the Lake Tahoe Invitational with a defeat on Thursday, Jan. 14. The Grizzlies fell to the San Francisco Sabercats 8-3, losing despite a hat trick from Hayden Cannon.

Cannon scored a goal in each period of Thursday’s loss — the first one came off an assist from Brennan Monroe and the last two were assisted by Kaitlyn Silveira. In Squirt Nevada division pool play, Tahoe will face a pair of California opponents — SDIA Oilers (San Diego) and South Bay Sasquatch (San Mateo).
