SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The Tahoe Icemen hockey team opened its 2016-17 campaign with a three-game series last weekend, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, at South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena. The Icemen were swept by Idaho in the series, unable to break through against the two-time defending Thorne Cup champions.

Tahoe (0-3) lost by scores of 15-1, 11-2 and 7-1 in the three-game set. Colton Langowski, Jensen Baehr, Phil Heisse and Reed Lequerica all scored for the Icemen against the Jr. Steeleheads.

The Icemen returned to action at home with a three-game series against San Diego that began Thursday, Oct. 6. The series continues at SLT Ice Arena on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8 — Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m. and the puck drops Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
