Time for physicals again at STHS
Athletes who will be playing a fall sport at South Tahoe High School will have to receive a physical exam before signing up for athletics.
Free physicals will be given August 8 at Tahoe Family Physicians at 5 p.m. Any new athletes or returning athletes who have seen a doctor in the past school year will be required to have a new examination, while all other returnees need only fill out the prerequisite forms.
There are four forms, the Nevada Physical form, proof of insurance, athlete contract and transportation form.
All forms can be picked up at the main office of STHS.
Grappler stars at Nationals
South Tahoe Wrestling Club member J.T. Davis competed in the 2001 USA National Wrestling Championship Tournament July 25 in Fargo, N. D.
Davis wrestled well in both his bouts. According to coach David Borges, “What J.T. has contributed to his wrestling career is nothing short of outstanding.
“The first time J.T. stepped on the wrestling mat was November 2000. By wrestling in the National Championships in his first year of competition, he has learned what he needs to accomplish on the national level.”
In the fall, Davis is planning to wrestle at University of Nevada Reno.
